08/1995-01/1999: Postdoctoral researcher, University Medicine, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany.

12/1999-09/2000: Professor, West China University of Medical Sciences, Chengdu, China.

Prof. Lin Zhang mainly focuses on the study of Immunology and Forensic Genetics. He is a doctoral supervisor, the special government allowances expert of the State Council, the outstanding mid-aged expert of National Health Commission and given a title of Trans-Century Talents of the National Education Commission. He is the Academic pacesetter of Science and Technology of Sichuan Province and the Leading academic of Health and Family Planning Commission of Sichuan Province. Founded by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), he studied human molecular genetics and forensic genetics at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in Germany. He serves currently as a chief member of National Education Guiding Committee for Forensic Medicine (2018—2022) .He received a number of fund grants: National Program on Key Basic Research Project (973 Program), National High-tech R&D Program of China (863 Program), Special Program for Basic Research of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China, Key Program of Ministry of Education of China, and Science and Technology Major Project of Sichuan Province. He won 6 items of first or second progress prizes in scientific and collective technology at provincial and ministerial level. He has trained more than 50 Masters and PhDs and published over 150 SCI papers. He is the chief editor of 2 textbooks which are listed as the 11th Five-Year National Programmed Textbooks. He participated in compiling 4 specialized textbooks and works.
